Nov 2008 – Present: Human Factors Engineer – London Underground

Human Factors Engineer – Railway Engineering Simulator (RES) Usability Study

The aim of this project is to increase the usability associated with the RES modelling tool. Activities have included collecting System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire feedback from the end users in addition to carrying out a pilot interview with an end-user in order to understand task flow and associated usability issues. Planned activities include a stakeholder workshop and further interviews and task walkthroughs with end-users.

Human Factors Engineer – TfL Bus Revenue Protection Inspector Study

This is a short project for TfL that looks at the physical discomfort associated with the Bus Revenue Protection Inspector (RPI) duties. Activity has included the development of task analysis, pure observation within their working environment and structured interviews with the end-users in order to compile assessment questionnaires. The project will also include the compilation of a report outlining the findings of the study and input to the management teams’ overarching RPI risk assessment.
